FAQs

Genus Gracilaria, also known as wild-harvested seaweed, is a type of algae found in the Caribbean seas. It is sustainably harvested and used in natural health products such as Sea Moss Gel due to its high nutrient content. Sea Moss is a rich source of minerals, vitamins and other beneficial compounds including iodine, iron, magnesium, potassium, sulfur and zinc. It has been used for centuries to support overall health and well-being.

Our Sea Moss is 100% organic and sustainably harvested from the oceans of St. Lucia in the Eastern Caribbean.

Sea Moss has a mild, slightly salty and algae-like taste. It is not overpowering and can be easily mixed with other ingredients when added to foods and drinks. Some describe the taste as slightly sweet and slightly earthy with hints of ocean and seaweed. We neutralize the flavor in all of our gels by soaking our Sea Moss in fresh lime juice to ensure optimal edibility.

However, our fruit-infused products do not have an oceanic flavor and taste similar to a smoothie!

Gold, Purple and Green Sea Moss are all types of sea moss known for their high nutrient content and potential health benefits.

Gold Sea Moss is the most commonly used variety and is dried in the sun, resulting in a mild taste and minimal odor.

Violet Sea Moss is rich in antioxidants called anthocyanins, which may provide benefits such as stronger bones and a healthier heart.

Green Sea Moss is rich in chlorophyll, known for its natural detoxifying and skin healing properties.

Our Rainbow Dyed Sea Moss is a blend of gold, purple and green seaweed and offers an incredible combination of all their benefits.

Sea Moss can be consumed in different ways. The most common way to reap the nutritional benefits of Sea Moss is to consume Sea Moss Gel. Sea Moss Gel can be consumed alone or in smoothies, soups, stews or other dishes for a powerful nutritional boost.

Sea Moss Gel can also be applied topically to the skin to act as a natural moisturizer or as a treatment for skin conditions such as eczema or acne. It can be applied directly to the skin or mixed with other natural ingredients such as aloe vera or essential oils to create a DIY skin care product.

The recommended amount is 1-2 tablespoons of seaweed gel per day.

We do not recommend taking more than 4 tablespoons per day.

Our Sea Moss Gels have a shelf life of 3-4 weeks after opening and must be kept in the refrigerator at all times.

If you order multiple gels, you should store any additional gels to be used later in the freezer immediately upon receipt, for up to 6 months. When ready to use them, let them thaw in the refrigerator.

Dried Sea Moss can be stored in an airtight container in a cool, dark place for up to 3 years.
